There are things you can say, and there are things you’d better think twice about saying.

Back in the heady days of the 1970s feminism movement, I thought I had a great idea for a bumper sticker:  All women’s rights are protected by a man’s might. I thought better of it though after getting bashed by one woman after another for daring such a dumb, demeaning, chauvinistic, misogynistic utterance.

One semi-hysterical feminist shouted in my face, “Yeah. It’s because you men held us down for so long!” I thought about telling her that reaction proved my point, but thought twice about that too.

Finally a good friend counseled me to either forget it, or get my car keyed. I thought better of it. So I’ve posted it here because it’s hard to key my post … I hope.
