MY PEOPLE PROUDLY WALKED THIS LAND

Art by Simon Kogan

Lately I’ve had no end of fun reciting a few of my poems while simultaneously improvising piano or guitar riffs. I call them Joe’s Art Songs. They’re short and I hope they’ll give you a moment or two of reflection and enjoyment.

The illustrations are by SIMON KOGAN, an internationally successful sculptor and artist. When he volunteered  to do some illustrations for my poems, I jumped at the chance! You can view some of his work at simonkogan.com, I’m sure you’ll see why I consider him a great artist!

About Joe Illing

Dear Viewers: My beloved husband, Joe Illing, passed away peacefully in our home on August 5, 2023. My hope is to add posts from his extensive and wonderful collection of stories, poems, videos and more from time to time. As Joe wrote, "I hope you'll find my posts entertaining, occasionally edifying and worth whatever time you can spend with them ... Joe." Sincerely, Kirstan
