Here’s Canto 2 of THIS ANCIENT FOREST (the first canto can be found under Art Songs in the Categories pull-down menu). It’s a poem in my Joe’s Art Songs collection, in which I read my poem while improvising on the piano. The illustration is courtesy of the artistic genius of Simon Kogan (simonkogan.com).
The poem is about where we of the North Pacific Coast work, pray, live and love. It’s about our birth and death and re-birth. It’s about our present. It’s about eternity. It’s about a place we hold dear.

Good job, Joe. I’m curious about how you get your readings/playings up on Youtube. Do you need a photo for starters? I’ve been thinking of putting some of my readings up which would include what I’ve done with your poems, but also my Bill Bryson essays. Not sure he’d approve but I’m pretty sure he won’t hear them. I admire your artistic endeavours.
Cheers.
